6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
The publishing industry today looks much different than it did a decade ago. In that time, self-publishing has outgrown its longstanding ‘vanity’ stigma and become a viable publishing option for many writers. The traditional publishing industry has also experienced great changes and as a result it just isn’t what it used to be, even for those who’ve found success within the system.
This webinar will provide an overview of the modern book publishing landscape and give advice to authors on how to successfully navigate it. We’ll discuss the general publishing options of Traditional Publishing, DIY, and Assisted Self-Publishing — how it all works and the logistics of moving your book from the computer screen to the bookshelf.
Through out the workshop we will cover:
Traditional Publishing: How it works, requirements, benefits and limitations
D.I.Y. Self Publishing: How it works, requirements, benefits and limitations
Assisted Self Publishing: How it works, requirements, benefits and limitations
How to Prepare for Publication: Book Proposal, Manuscript Preparation et cetera.
We will have lots of time for Questions and Answers following the main event.
FriesenPress will be giving away a Free Manuscript Evaluation (valued at $499) to one lucky attendee of the event!
Register by September 20th at 3pm CST and a link to this online webinar will be sent to you via email by 4pm CST. The workshop runs from 6pm CST to 8pm CST. Don’t forget to check your junk mail in case you can’t find the link.
This workshop is FREE for all Creative Manitoba members.
