Presented in partnership with Urban Shaman Contemporary Aboriginal Art Gallery
Join us for an online chat, Wednesday, May 26 from 12pm -1pm ,with Robert Snowbird as he explains the intricacies of creating an online virtual 360 gallery!
Together we will explore how technology is playing a role in the modern art gallery. We will learn the technical needs required to create an interactive online viewing experience that satisfies audience members. What do you need to prepare? How do you execute and fulfill the artist’s vision when creating a 360 virtual gallery online? How do you trouble shoot? What is the best case scenario for creating a rich and detailed viewing? What is the creative process for mounting a show from beginning to end.
Please register online and a zoom link will be sent to your email address on the morning of the event!
Robert Snowbird – Artist Biography
Robert Snowbird is from the Pine Creek First Nation community and Ojibway-Cree. He has been training with Urban Shaman Gallery since March 2018. Robert has been intrinsic to helping with the implementation of their digital strategy initiatives, including helping them produce the new website, as a gallery technician / preparator and assisting with light administration duties. Robert will be working with Urban over the coming year to help them upload their programming content to the new virtual gallery. Robert is also a full time student in the professional photographer diploma program at Prairie View School of Photography located in Winnipeg, Manitoba. “I’ve always felt creating “things”, be it for myself or others delight was just what we as human beings do, I didn’t or never considered that act as “creating” art, it’s what comes naturally to me”. Robert also believes, “…in this day and age of access to information at our fingertips, an individual can teach themselves anything. Just as much if not more than a college, or university, although instruction by mentors is important…”. Robert continues to move himself in a positive direction in his middle aged life as an Anishinaabe man that has overcome addictions, homelessness, and incarceration.
