Cluster: New Music + Integrated Arts Festival 2025

Cluster is currently accepting proposals for the 2025 & 2026 Cluster: New Music + Integrated Arts Festival (June 5-10, 2025 & dates TBD June 2026 in Winnipeg, MB, Canada). Although the festival’s programming has a strong focus on sound, submissions from all disciplines (including multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary projects) are encouraged.

As a festival, Cluster is dedicated to the presentation and production of thought-provoking, risk-taking work of the highest artistic integrity. In the past, Cluster’s calls for submissions have resulted in the selection of diverse projects ranging from electroacoustic music to exhibited sculptures to immersive multimedia installations. We want you to surprise us—show us what is urgent in today’s world of art and performance!

Logistical Details:

• Submissions should take the form of a full evening-length performance or presentation (40-70 mins), or a similarly significant installation or exhibition project.
• Cluster will provide a fee of up to $2000 CAD to the successful applicant(s) that is to be understood as the total project budget (including artist fees as well as any travel, lodging, or special technical or material requirements).
• Cluster will provide an appropriate venue for the project, technician for the evening of the performance as well as four hours setup and dress rehearsal. In addition, Cluster will provide a basic PA, mixer, projector and cabling.

Submission Details:

• Submissions may comprise multiple projects OR artists may submit multiple separate submissions.
• This year we will only be accepting cloud-based submissions. As such, all files must be uploaded to services such as  soundcloud (sound), youtube or vimeo (video), flickr (photos), ISSUU (pdfs), an unrestricted (open permissions) Google Drive folder or your personal website. We will not accept any uploaded or attached files that must be downloaded.
• Please ensure that your links are stable, password-free, with open viewing permissions and are not taken down at any time, as we will review submissions over a two-week period. Do not provide links that will expire at any time before January 15, 2025.
• You cannot save this online form, so we suggest preparing your submission in a word processing program and saving it before completing any of the form. Leaving the page will cause you to lose your progress.

Evaluation:

Submissions will be evaluated based on the vision, artistic integrity, and viability of the proposed work, as demonstrated by the project proposal and supporting materials. Proposed works need not be completed or fully-developed—we will consider works-in-progress and as yet unrealized proposals.

Cluster welcomes submissions from artists of all races, ethnicities, gender-identities, sexual orientations, ages, and persons who are disabled.
