Programming and Facility Assistant (TERM)

Full-time 37.5 hours per week to backfill a Maternity Leave for 10 months (Oct 2023 to Aug 2024)

Forum Art Centre (FAC) is an arts organization which strives to provide educational and cultural enrichment for the community in and around Manitoba. FAC endeavours to develop and encourage art appreciation and artistic enlightenment through a variety of programming, education, and awareness.

The Programming & Facility Assistant will support the Executive Director and Programming Coordinator in all aspects of the Centre’s operations and is integral to the day-to-day functions of the Centre. This role is the first point of contact for students and the public.

Administration

  • Reception and front desk duties including responding to inquiries by phone or email.
  • General care and maintenance of the Centre’s public areas and classrooms
  • Create and maintain supplies for art instruction, office, and facility.
  • Maintain student, instructor, and admin information in central file system.
  • Assist the Executive Director and Programming Co-ordinator with general admin tasks such as contracts, grant submissions, and documents for the Board.
  • Oversee facility maintenance and communication with suppliers and other stakeholders.

Programming and Registration

  • Play a key role in the creation, scheduling, and facilitation of Winter, Spring and Summer classes.
  • Drive the outreach, marketing and social media for the Centre’s programming, including regular session programming, workshops, and public events.
  • Create and update class descriptions by liaising with instructors and creating marketing assets for the website, social media networks, and other communications.
  • Maintain accurate payment and receipt records, spreadsheets, and seasonal reports.

Communications/Outreach/Promotions

  • Maintain the content of the Forum Art Centre website, newsletter, and social media platforms.
  • Work with staff to support Forum’s bursary program through relationship building, student intake and supporting grant and fund development.
  • Lead volunteer recruitment, scheduling, and orientation
  • Support staff with research and generation of new classes and Instructors
  • Promote the Forum Art Centre to the wider art community to develop relationships and partnerships
  • High-Level Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, Google, WordPress, Canva, WooCommerce
  • Knowledge and/or experience with visual art mediums, educational/artistic programs, facility operations, and non-profit arts administration are definite assets!

Schedule: Generally, 9:00 to 5:00 Monday to Friday, with some Saturdays and other exceptions required: special events, offsite events, workshop facilitation etc.

Salary: $42,000 per year
