Job Title: Program Coordinator
Organization: African Movie Festival in Manitoba (AM-FM)

Job Overview:
The Program Coordinator will play a key role in planning, coordinating, and executing programs for AM-FM, including festival screenings, workshops, filmmaker mentorship, and community engagement initiatives. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with experience in arts programming, event coordination, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Planning & Implementation:
- Assist in the development, scheduling, and execution of AM-FM programming, including film screenings, panel discussions, and workshops.
- Coordinate logistics, including venue bookings, permits, and technical requirements.
- Ensure seamless communication between filmmakers, speakers, and partners involved in festival activities.
- Support the development and distribution of program materials (e.g., schedules, event guides, promotional content).
Community & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain relationships with filmmakers, artists, community organizations, and sponsors.
- Work with educational institutions and community groups to facilitate outreach and audience development.
- Collaborate with ACOMI and other cultural partners to ensure programming is inclusive and representative of Manitoba’s African communities.
Event Coordination:
- Oversee event logistics, including ticketing, registrations, guest services, and accessibility considerations.
- Work with volunteers and staff to ensure smooth on-site operations during events.
- Coordinate guest speaker and filmmaker participation, including travel arrangements where necessary.
Marketing & Communications Support:
- Assist in the development of promotional materials and social media content to highlight AM-FM programs.
- Support media outreach and community awareness initiatives.
- Ensure effective communication with participants, attendees, and stakeholders.
Evaluation & Reporting:
- Collect feedback from participants, attendees, and partners to assess program impact.
- Prepare reports on program outcomes and recommendations for future improvements.
- Maintain records of program activities and participation for funding and reporting purposes.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Arts Administration, Event Management, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience in program coordination, event planning, or arts administration.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with diverse communities and foster inclusive programming.
- Experience in film, media, or cultural programming is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with project management tools.
Working Conditions:
Hybrid work environment with some evening and weekend commitments during events.
Some local travel required for meetings and community engagement.
