The Royal Winnipeg Ballet enriches the human experience by teaching, creating, and performing outstanding dance. Located in the heart of downtown Winnipeg, the RWB plays an integral role in the city’s vibrant arts community. Founded in 1939, the RWB holds the double distinction of being Canada’s premiere ballet company and the longest continuously operating ballet company in North America. In 1953, the Company received its royal title, the first granted under the reign of Queen Elizabeth II.

The RWB is a leader, renowned for classical ballet and pushing the boundaries of dance, while nurturing the next generation of talent through the prestigious RWB School and its Professional and Recreational divisions. The Role
As the Senior Officer, Corporate Partnerships & Special Events, you will lead the sponsorship and corporate partnerships initiatives of the organization to enhance financial sustainability, support the mission of the RWB, and strengthen its market position. In this role, you will focus on cultivating strategic, long-term corporate relationships, developing sponsorship proposals, planning special events, and tracking performance outcomes.

Key Duties

  • Develop & Execute Sponsorship Strategies: Identify, research, and cultivate corporate partnerships, identifying projects and programs suitable for sponsors and developing cases for support.
  • Build & Nurture Partnerships: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with corporate partners and sponsors to foster long-term engagement.
  • Craft Compelling Sponsorship Proposals: Develop persuasive sponsorship packages that showcase the unique benefits for sponsors and corporate partners.
  • Plan & Execute Special Events: Lead the strategy, planning, and execution of high-profile events in Winnipeg and on tour, ensuring an unforgettable experience for attendees.
  • Ensure Sponsor Benefit Fulfillment: Work closely with the Stewardship Officer to deliver agreed-upon sponsorship benefits, including required reporting.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with internal departments to align corporate sponsorship and event strategies with the artistic vision and institutional mission of the RWB.
  • Analyze & Report on Performance: Track partnership performance, measure event success, and provide data-driven insights to enhance future initiatives.

Work Setting
In this role you will work in an office environment utilizing standard office equipment and will regularly communicate with internal and external stakeholders by phone, email, and in-person. Work outside of regular office hours and travel outside of Manitoba may be required.

What You Bring 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate partnerships, sponsorships, and event management.
  • Proven success in securing and managing corporate partnerships and executing events.
  • Experience with donor database management systems preferred.
  • Experience in the non-profit sector an asset.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Detail-oriented with creative problem-solving skills.
