Edward Carriere presents the Art City Bouffant Ball, a celebration of fashion and fantasy hair!
Each year, Art City hosts a fundraising party presented in a different theme. The theme carries through in the experiences, sights, sounds and fashion guests wear especially for the event. This year, we celebrate fantasy hair. It’s a chance to carry the ultimate coiffure atop your head. For some, it’s an opportunity to wig out! For those who keep their hair covered, hair themed clothes or accessories are encouraged. Throw together an outfit, and make sure to leave time to make a statement with your hair. This is all for the good cause of supporting Art City, and its accessible art programming for children and community members of all ages and abilities!

Please note: the bars will be CASH ONLY bar. There will be an ATM on site. We recommend bringing cash to avoid lineups or glitches!
Art City merchandise can be purchased with debit or credit cards.
The event is for guests over 18 years of age. IDs and bags will be checked at the door. Venue security policy requires guests consent to a physical pat down upon arrival.
Bouffant Ball Accessibility Info
The Art City Bouffant Ball is being held in the Metropolitan Entertainment Centre at 281 Donald Street.
The first and second floors of the venue are wheelchair accessible. The street level entrance is accessed by a ramp and an elevator is available to access the second and third floors. Each floor has wheelchair accessible bathrooms. Please note that the balconies accessed off the third floor are not wheelchair accessible.
The event will have gender neutral washrooms.
The main floor will have dancing, loud music and party lighting. The second floor will hold a quieter area with limited seating. Balconies with limited seating overlooking the dance floor can be accessed by stairs.
A safer spaces policy will be in place with signage posted throughout the venue. Security will be on site and there will be a designated chill zone/ first aid area staffed with trained volunteers.
Coat check will be available for a $2 fee.
The MET is a smoke free facility, all indoor areas and the rooftop patio are designated smoke/vape free.
For those arranging travel: the party will run from 8 pm – 2 am.
The venue is located downtown and is along major bus routes. Limited bike parking will be available along the street. Vehicle parking is limited, paid parking can be found at the Impark lot beside The MET, Radisson Parking (entrance off Smith Street), and the Millennium Library (entrance off Donald Street). Please do not drink and drive.
A limited amount of appetizers will be provided throughout the earlier part of the evening. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options will be available. Chicken fingers and fries will be available to purchase after 11 pm.
Staff and volunteers will be available to answer questions during the event.

Do experiment with hats, wigs, and accessories if you don’t have or don’t show your hair!
Don’t style your hair or wear a wig that belongs to a culture that you are not a part of.
Don’t touch other people’s hair or wigs without invitation.
