Artist Talk | Lisa Stinner-Kun

The Centre for Cultural and Artistic Practices is conducting an artist talk by Winnipeg-based artist Lisa Stinner-Kun in association with her current solo exhibit, ‘Built Persuasion.’ Stinner-Kun will present a talk surveying her work over the years, along with her recent work in the exhibit. This will be followed by a Q&A with the artist.
This is an off-site program happening in the Artspace Building:

Lisa Stinner-Kun is a photographic artist and educator, living in Treaty 1 territory (Winnipeg). Her artwork is concerned with the photographic reconstruction of the human-built world. Since graduating with her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Stinner-Kun has shown her work in exhibitions nationally and internationally. Her ‘Construct’ series was featured in Medium Format Magazine, she served as a panelist in the Urban Wilds/Vague Terrain seminar series at York University (Department of Environmental and Urban Change), and was a recent jury member for Canadian Architect magazine’s “Awards of Excellence”, of which she is a two-time recipient. The Canada Council for the Arts, Manitoba Arts Council and Winnipeg Arts Council have supported the creation of her most recent projects Mid-Century Modest, and Built Persuasion. Stinner-Kun is a frequent instructor at both Martha Street Studio and the University of Manitoba’s School of Art, where she received her BFA.
