Local legend Vida Lamour Decosmo has been hold down Winnipeg’;s drag scene for over 23 years. Vida rose to prominence as an entertainer, associated with all of Winnipeg’s queer bars at one time or another. She’s part of the “Bannock Babes “ a collective of Indigenous drag performers mostly out of Treaty 1 territory. Vida is also the matriarch to the oldest and largest drag houses in Winnipeg, The Lamour Coven. Recently, Vida has turned her attention to supporting young performers, as well as rural and Indigenous communities in Manitoba. She also has become more involved in outreach programming, working at Sunshine House.
