Cheryl L’Hirondelle has sustained a ground-breaking career for 42 years, so far, in a variety of contemporary disciplines, from punk bands to public art (which I suppose one could argue are one and the same), while staying true to tradition and Cree Worldview. Cheryl’s use of language and land as a launch pad for such an incredible body of interdisciplinary work, including being a recipient of the 2021 GG Award in Visual Arts, is inspiring, to say the least.

Join us in conversation as Cheryl shares their knowledge and story with us and fills us in on what’s next and what it takes to manage such a beautiful and varied career that touches all aspects of art-making, from the sublime to the political.
