Victorian Hair Art Workshop

Join us at the Rectory to learn about the history of hairwork and Victorian commemorative practices and make your own five-petal hair-worked flower.

Sandra Klowak is a Winnipeg (Treaty 1) artist who weaves and sculpts with human hair based on the historic craft of Victorian hairwork. Sandra will take students through the full process of creating a simple hairwork piece, from preparing the hair and wire, weaving it via the historic “gimping” technique, and putting it together with bead and button.

The registration deadline is April 13th.
