VP Workshop – Intro to Blender 3D Creation Suite
June 26 at6:00 pm - July 3 at8:00 pm$80 – $100
Join digital media artist Taylor McArthur for an introduction to Blender, the open-source 3D computer graphics software used for creating animated films, 3D-printed models, motion graphics, virtual reality, and more!
Monday June 26 + July 3 | 6:00 – 8:00 pm
Over 2 classes, participants will learn to navigate the Blender workspace and the basics of organizing their Blender project. Along the way, participants will learn how to design and setup up 3D assets and particle systems for the design of a small 3D scene.
There are no prerequisites for this class, but participants will need to bring their own laptops to use in this workshop. Blender is cross-platform and runs equally well on Linux, Windows, and Mac computers. (VP is able to provide a small number of in-person participants. If you are in need of a laptop to use, please let us know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org after registering.) This class is available to be taken in person or remotely online! If you are taking this workshop remotely, we recommend using a dual-monitor setup and using a mouse with a scroll wheel (as opposed to a trackpad) for best engagement. Participants will need to have the Blender software installed on their computers.
This is the first section of a 2-part series, continuing with two more classes led by Taylor on Bringing 3D Assets to Life in Unity VR. Visit https://videopool.org/unityvr/ to read more and register for part two!
Cost: $80 for members | $100 for non-members
