Founded in 1991, Wild Roots Theatre is a Winnipeg-based, incorporated charitable theatre organization dedicated to environmental education through performance—what we proudly call "Theatre for the Planet". Starting out as activists, we have grown to offer programming for kids, families and the general public, creating participatory theatrical experiences that make environmental and community issues feel real, urgent, and personal.

We explore environmental science through theatre, allowing participants to imagine, empathize and laugh, all while understanding the serious issues we face. We inspire audiences and participants to be gentler on our planet, giving them both hope and accountability through meaningful yet simple changes in daily habits, with tangible goals.  Our programming is informative, realistic, and optimistic, emphasizing community spirit and individual action, with the message that every little bit of help is an invaluable contribution.

Through love of theatre -story, play, and emotional engagement- we elicit connection and real action. We aim to create artistic, engaging and memorable theatrical experiences that promote environmental stewardship and empower people of all ages to participate in climate protection. Grounded in sustainable practices, we are committed to diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility in all the work we do.

Hood and Dagger Productions is a Winnipeg registered charity with a mandate to Build Community through Community Theatre. Founded in January 2024, we produce three-show seasons of live community theatre, specializing in thrillers, mysteries, and tales of adventure.

Winner of the 2025 “Not-for-Profit of the Year” Award, we work together to create a respectful and positive environment for our volunteer cast and crew. We provide opportunities for everyday Winnipeggers to get involved in the Arts, whatever your experience level or background.

We aspire to create more than community theatre, but a community event, by supporting local businesses and partnering with a local charity for every show.

Mentoring Artists for Women's Art (MAWA) encourages and supports the intellectual and creative development of women and gender expansive people in the visual arts by providing an ongoing forum for mentorship, education and critical dialogue.

Mentorship is the core activity of the organization, and a mentorship philosophy informs all aspects of MAWA. MAWA mentorships range in duration from 2-12 months, sometimes focussing on a specific media or theme, and often culminate in an exhibition. The in-depth learning that they provide is transformative. Mentorship shares knowledge, experience, networks and support, advancing individual careers and building a healthy, intergenerational arts community.

In addition, MAWA provides a wide variety of accessible visual art programming for people of all genders, such as: artist talks by local, national and international artists; critical reading and discussion groups; workshops in a particular artistic skills; workshops in traditional global and Indigenous artistic practices; professional practices workshops; theoretical lectures; critical writing opportunities; studio visits with established curator; critiques with established critics; film screenings; and a resource centre/lending library. Identity-based groups provide networking, peer support, artistic feedback and access to professional opportunities.
