The Health Sciences Centre Foundation (HSC Foundation) rallies individual, corporate, and institutional donors in support of HSC Winnipeg—Manitoba’s hospital. In partnership with donors since 1976, the HSC Foundation has raised over $255 million to support the important work of HSC Winnipeg. Position Summary

The Multimedia Content Specialist is a creative storyteller responsible for bringing the Health Sciences Centre Foundation’s mission to life through compelling video, photography, graphic design, animation, and digital content. Working closely with the Manager of Digital Marketing, this role produces high-quality multimedia assets that strategically align with organizational goals, and engage donors, patients, health care professionals, and the community across digital channels.

This position plays a key role in showcasing the impact of donor support by capturing authentic stories, producing campaign content, and creating visually engaging materials that strengthen the Foundation’s brand and drive fundraising, awareness, and community engagement.

 

Key Responsibilities

The Multimedia Content Specialist will be a versatile content creator whose assignments will include, but not be limited to:

Multimedia Production

– Produce and edit high-quality videos for fundraising campaigns, donor stewardship, social media, website, events, and internal communications.

– Capture professional photography at Foundation events, cheque presentations, and for a wide variety of marketing collateral as needed.

– Edit video content for multiple platforms, including short-form social media, YouTube, presentations, and donor events.

– Organize and maintain digital media assets, including photography, video, and graphic files.

Creative Content Development

– Translate campaign strategies into engaging visual, thumb-stopping content that supports fundraising and marketing objectives.

– Develop and execute content for social media, digital advertising, e-blasts, web, print collateral, and the Donor Celebration Centre—an electronic photo installation at HSC Winnipeg.

– Conduct on-camera interviews with patients, clinicians, researchers, and HSC Foundation representatives.

– Work closely with the department to visually complement written stories.

– Ensure all creative work aligns with HSC Foundation brand standards.

– Adapt creative assets into multiple formats and sizes for different channels.

– Maintain sensitivity and professionalism when working in a hospital environment while respecting the Personal Health Information Act (PHIA).

Digital Marketing Support

– Produce strong short-form copy with an understanding of platform-specific writing.

– Create and post social media and website content.

– Continuously explore new content trends and creative approaches, helping keep our social channels fresh, relevant, and engaging while ensuring all content reflects our brand and mission.

– Monitor social media accounts, engage with audiences where appropriate, and flag comments, questions, or emerging issues requiring follow-up or escalation.

– Optimize content for web performance and platform requirements.

– Maintain photography, video, and lighting equipment.

– Coordinate freelancers or external production vendors when required.

Qualifications & Experience

– Diploma or degree in Multimedia Production, Digital Media, Communications, Marketing or a related field.

– 3–5 years producing professional multimedia content.

– Experience creating content for digital marketing and social media.

– Experience in creating branded style templates for social media content.

– Experience photographing and filming events.

– Experience editing video for multiple platforms.

– Experience working with nonprofit organizations, health care, or fundraising is considered an asset.

– Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will also be considered.

 

Technical Skills

Proficiency with:

– Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, InDesign)

– Professional DSLR or mirrorless camera systems

– Lighting and audio equipment

– Video editing workflows

– Photography editing

– WordPress

– Canva

– Microsoft Office
