Are you looking to produce your work with a local theatre company or venue? Are you applying for a residency? Chances are, you’ll need to prepare a pitch. In this workshop, we will discuss the process of pitching your company and work to various organizations, and how to execute a successful proposal.
In this workshop you will learn how to:
- Communicate your value as an artist/collective
- Assemble your support material
- Effectively pitch and present your show/company/work
- Draft compelling proposals

Tanner Manson (he/him) is a queer artist specializing in devised performance creation, poetry and physical theatre. He grew up in rural Manitoba and currently resides in Winnipeg, Treaty 1 Territory. He does a little bit of everything and loves everything a lot; from performing, to collective creation, to producing, to constructing sets, to constructing scripts. Tanner is co-founder of the award-winning Walk&Talk Theatre Company where he, along with his best pals and collaborators, create new music-theatre. Coming up, Tanner will be the Program Facilitator / Director for One Trunk Theatre’s Artist-In-Residence summer program. Some projects he’s been a part of include: The Woman & The Whale (Theatre Projects Manitoba – Climate & Main – Playwright), End of the Line,The Headliners, The Ballad of Johnny Boy, The Last Garden, KING (Walk&Talk – Co-Creator, Movement Director, Performer), Blink (W&T, One Trunk Theatre – Co-Artistic Producer, Performer), Knock Knock Ginger Series – Florist Follies (One Trunk Theatre – Creator/Performer), Romeo & Juliet (Shakespeare in the Ruins – Tour – Performer), Variations of a Patchwork Heart (TPM – Creator/Performer), FERN (University of Winnipeg – Director, Co-Creator, Performer) and Moving In Moving Out (Weather Parade Dance Theatre – Production Manager). He, with Walk&Talk have also held residency with the International Institute for Sustainable Development – Experimental Lakes Area.

Cancellation policy
Creative Manitoba reserves the right to cancel or postpone any event where a minimum registration level has not been met. Participants registered for an event that is cancelled by Creative Manitoba will receive a full refund.
Registrants may cancel up to one week before the event to receive a full refund. No refunds will be issued to registrants who cancel within one week of the event start date. No refunds will be issued for registrants who do not attend.
Substitute participants are allowed in most cases, but not all. Please check with us ahead of time if you wish to send a substitute participant by calling 204-927-2787.
