Presented in partnership with Arts AccessAbility Network Manitoba

Creative Accessibility is a series of online webinars and panel discussions that will explore disability art, the experiences of artists with disabilities and how to make art accessible. These workshops will be beneficial not only for emerging artists with disabilities, but artists at all levels of their career with and without disabilities.

Join Jenel Shaw, the executive director for Arts AccessAbility Network Manitoba as she explores the many ways to make your space more inviting for the Deaf and disability communities. The workshop will include a focus on digital accessibility which will help arts organizations to ensure that their digital content is accessible in these unprecedented times.

Register for this FREE event and a Zoom link will be sent to your inbox closer to the event date. All Creative Accessibility workshops will have ASL interpretation.

Jenel Shaw is a visual artist and dedicated advocate for Deaf and disabled artists. Shaw earned her Master’s Degree in Disabilities Studies at the University of Manitoba. Her dissertation, An Autoethonological Study of Art as a Tool of Empowerment, examined her own experiences with art and mental illness. Shaw previously worked at Mentoring Artists in Women’s Art as their first student intern during her undergrad. Currently, she is the Executive Director of Arts AccessAbility Network Manitoba and the Liaison Director for the Manitoba Cultural Society of the Deaf.
