Creative Accessibility: Grant Accessibility

Created in partnership with Arts AccessAbility Network of Manitoba

Applying for grants can be a big step in your journey as an artist. In this workshop, participants will learn more about the resources available to artists to help cover the costs of disability-related services and supports necessary to complete their projects.

Join us in conversation with representatives from The Manitoba Arts Council, and The Winnipeg Arts Council Granting programs to talk about grants accessibility for Deaf and disabled artists.

Creative Accessibility is a series of workshops that will explore disability art, the experiences of artists with disabilities and how to make art accessible. These workshops will be beneficial not only for emerging artists with disabilities, but artists at all levels of their career with and without disabilities.

About the Speakers

Dominic Lloyd is originally from the Yukon Territory where he worked with numerous arts organizations including the Dawson City Music Festival, the Yukon International Storytelling Festival, the Dawson City International Short Film Festival, and the Klondike Institute of Art and Culture. In 2004 he became Artistic Director of Winnipeg’s West End Cultural Centre, a position he held for nearly six years before taking on the role of Project Manager for Winnipeg Cultural Capital of Canada 2010. He has been in his current role overseeing WAC’s grant programs and Arts Development activities since 2011.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Canadian History and Political Science from Simon Fraser University. In his spare time he enjoys four seasons in the prairie wilderness with his family, and obsesses over baseball statistics.
