2023 Prairie Outdoor Exhibition – Winnipeg Folk Festival

Website Winnipeg Folk Festival

Deadline: February 22, 2023

The Winnipeg Folk Fest will take place July 6th – 9th, 2023, in Birds Hill Provincial Park. Be a part of the Prairie Outdoor Exhibition – an interactive outdoor gallery. We look for visual artists to exhibit their work in this beautiful natural setting and experience a truly unique outdoor gallery. Here’s your chance to create something that will inspire and engage our audience!

Our theme for 2023 is Prairie Sky. Long horizons and expansive skies are one of the best parts of the Prairies.

The sky is woven into the festival experience, from the early morning sunrise over the campground, to blue skies above the daytime stages, to the sunset glow on Main Stage and finally, the moon and stars, and if we’re lucky, the aurora borealis lighting up the evening.

We invite you to submit proposals that explore and celebrate the theme as well as other project ideas that would be positive additions to the site.

Work can be installed in open fields, trees, tents, or on fences. Considerations should include safety, ease of installation and removal, lasting impact on the natural environment, and the ability of the work to withstand sun, wind, rain, and curious patrons/children. Artists are responsible for installing and removing work.

Applications can be found on our website.

Application Deadline: February 22, 2023.
