Tamara Roshka is a second-generation Indo-Canadian multi-disciplined artist and cinematographer based in Winnipeg, Canada. She studied Fine Arts at the University of Manitoba and graduated in 2010. Since then, she has had multiple successful solo art shows primarily featuring paintings of the prairie skies and focusing particularly on dramatic prairie storms. Over the years, she has worked alongside her father in the tv industry who is a director and editor. She has had the opportunity to be mentored by various cinematographers, which has allowed her to expand her skills in the field. Using her Fine Arts background, Tamara takes great care in her artistic expression through the camera lens. Currently, Tamara advocates for gender equality on film sets and enjoys teaching younger generations interested in the industry.
Tamara has focused on her ceramic art in recent years, creating pieces including functional art. She takes influence and inspiration from forests and the sea to create whimsical and enchanting pieces.
Tamara wishes for others to see the beauty of the earth and sky, and her inspiration from nature is evident in her creations. She feels art should be accessible to all and hopes to create pieces that can be enjoyed by people from all walks of life.
