Exploring the Endangered | Sarah Neville
September 8, 2022 at11:00 am - September 20, 2022 at5:00 pm
FreeExhibition Statement In Sarah Neville’s newest exhibition, Exploring the Endangered, Neville showcases the largest series she has ever created. This collection will include hundreds of small works, including oil paintings and watercolour illustrations. Each piece will depict a specific endangered animal that is in need of our help. These species can be found all over the world, and each one has a profound effect on our environment.
Each piece is specially designed and created for that specific animal. A portion of the sales from this exhibition will be donated to organizations devoted to help save these animals.
Sarah Neville is a Winnipeg-based painter and illustrator. She primarily works with oil and watercolour paints. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Honours from the University of Manitoba’s School of Art. Neville has showcased her artwork in many Manitoban galleries.
Animals are a constant source of inspiration for Neville and appear in her work frequently. Although animals have been her main inspiration ever since she can remember after she rescued her first dog is when her desire to capture animals with her art really became her focus.
She predominantly creates oil paintings and watercolour illustrations. Both mediums create such different artwork, she loves them both equally. Her watercolour illustrations are featured in children’s book illustrations.
As part of furthering her career as a children’s book illustrator, she has illustrated Daisy’s Biggest Success (2013), Fur is Only Fur Deep (2015), The Wolseley Block Party (2019) and has an upcoming book to be released hopefully later this year. Fur is Only Fur Deep won the McNally Robinson Books for Young People Award for 2015/2016, and Neville was also shortlisted for the Manuela Dias Book Design and Illustration Award for the Children’s Illustrator Category.
