This Is the Story of the Child Ruled By Fear | David Gagnon Walker
April 28 - April 30
The final show of TPM’s 2022-23 season, This is the Story of the Child Ruled by Fear by David Gagnon Walker, runs at Théâtre Cercle Molière from April 28th to April 30th!
We are thrilled to welcome Strange Victory Performance to Winnipeg for the Manitoba premiere of this experimental theatre collaboration with audiences.
David has written a play for himself and a gathering of friends and strangers to read together out loud. It’s the story of the rise and fall of an imaginary civilization in an imaginary land. A poetic fable about how to live with the slowly unfolding emergencies of our world, it’s also an invitation to join in on the artistic process and a testament to the power of a roomful of people discovering a new story together.
Fear not – nobody will be hauled out of the audience onto a stage! You will be able to participate according to your own comfort – before the show begins, you decide if you’d like to read for a character, join the chorus, or sit back and watch – and join this humorous, cathartic exploration of our innermost private fears. After each performance, we will emerge to hear local musicians in the lobby, where we can gather and talk about the play we all just brought to life. Or just see some folks and chat…be together.
As we emerge from the covid years, TPM is more committed than ever to bringing world-class theatre to our patrons and to breaking down any barriers that stop people from seeing exciting theatre.
For this performance, we are offering two Pay What You Decide Performances, a French Community show and an Audio Described Performance. We offer tickets at a range of prices, including student, senior and general, and also have a group rate–buy 7 or more tickets for $20/ea (input code grouprateadult at checkout).
